Alistair Cameron applauds local NHS staff, and argues for better funding

NHS Staff in Gloucestershire are hard working and dedicated, deserving of our support. In hospitals, clinics and surgeries they are well respected. They NHS however needs more funding which is why the Liberal Democrats will invest the £8bn NHS bosses say they need to maintain the high quality care you expect, free when you need it. That means the staff can deliver the service they want. And we'll guarantee equal care and support for everyone with mental health problems, who have been left behind for too long. In addition the Liberal Democrats in government will oppose any plan for regional pay for nurses which would mean less pay for those that live outside London.

Alistair adds: 'the NHS is safe in Liberal Democrat hands. I have fought against past plans to close the hospitals in Tewkesbury and Winchcombe, and I oppose plans to downgrade A and E provision at Cheltenham General Hospital. It is vital we keep a GP surgery in Prestbury and we also have a new health centre in Churchdown."
