THREATENED Police Community Support Officers have been backed by Cotswold Liberal Democrats

District council group leader Paul Hodgkinson pledged to support the PCSOs in
the face of a looming review of numbers next spring.

The move follows Liberal Democrat Police Commissioner candidate Alistair
Cameron's visit to Cirencester.

He told residents: "PCSOs provide an important local link between the police
service and our rural and urban communities.

"I want to keep them to at least their current levels so that they can continue
to carry out this vital work."

Urging residents to make a stand, Mr Hodgkinson said: "To lose the PCSO role in
the Cotswolds would be a huge step backwards."
