Alistair Cameron to visit sheltered accommodation in Longford

April 20, 2010 9:28 PM

Alistair Cameron, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Tewkesbury will be visiting Victoria Court in Longford on Wednesday, 21 April 2010 at 10.00 am in order to meet with the residents and discuss Liberal Democrat policies.

Victoria Court provides sheltered accommodation for elderly residents and it is owned and managed by Severn Vale Homes.

Alistair said: "Victoria Court provides nice, friendly accommodation for elderly residents who can enjoy each other's company in the community room.

As a society we need to continue to provide sheltered accommodation such as Victoria Court where residents can have their own independence but also enjoy the company of other residents."

Alistair will be discussing Liberal Democrat policies such as to restore the link between the basic state pension and earnings in order to ensure pensioners can get a decent income in their retirement.

Alistair said: "Pensioners have worked hard throughout their lives and it is only fair that they have a comfortable life in retirement."

Alistair would be happy to meet with the press at Victoria Court.
